Good Quality with a low noise level, very low energy consumption when IDLE.

I was very pleased with the performance and stability of this PSU. It is doing a great job at an absolutely inaudible noiselevel. I would highly recommend it to everyone looking for a decent power supply that won't hurt the wallet.

Overall the Fusion 550R was a really good power supply. The minimal packaging approach works really well, after all when you purchase a product your wanting the product inside the packaging ¡V not the exterior! The Fusion 550R was packaged by Arctic Cooling very well, it was very durable and was packaged in a way to ensure that the consumer gets the unit just like when it left the factory. The Fusion 550R stands out from the crowd with regard to its looks.

Mit 0,2 Sone im 2D-Betrieb und 1,1 Sone im 3D-Betrieb ist das Fusion 550R das leiseste Netzteil im Test. Mit 84-88% Effizienz liegt das Netzteil auch weit vorne im Testfeld.

This PSU is VERY quiet, I can't hear it at all even after turning the videocard fan off. The buzz from the hardrive will always be louder than the fan on the power supply. It was not horrible either when it comes to electricity usage, without setup it idled at 145W and ran at 190W under load. This is about ~5W less than the Coolermaster we compared vs. The fan really made this thing silent and the stability was awesome. Even after longer gaming periods the PSU stayed cool and rock stable.

The Arctic Cooling Fusion 550RF 550W PSU is an interesting unit. It has a few innovative ideas - mainly the fan on the outside of the box that adds to the curb appeal. It appears to be very stable in terms of voltage as well as ripple and noise. In fact, it's probably one of the most stable PSUs we've tested around here.

Also Arctic Cooling made it up to the winner's podium: The Fusion 550R is for a 500 W PSU amazingly cheap and has an excellent airflow. [...] The great profitability combined with a very high efficiency, stable currents and a congenial different coolingsolutoin are lifting the Fusion 550 R above the rest of the market. A good processing combined with latest technologiy is the base for Arctic Coolings Fusion 550R and the reason for to convince in our test. The slightly different ventilation system has it's Pros and Cons, but the PSU itself is cooled well and reliably. [...] With numberous connectors in a good lengh it can provide power to all neccessary components. The PSU is available at about 50 Euro - in combination with the given performance we have no other choice but awarding it with our Best Price Award.

The Fusion 550R PSU, a new and great product from Arctic Cooling. It was equips with the 80mm F8 Pro fan situated outside of the PSU housing to provide a quiet yet performance power to meet the enthusiast requirements.

The Arctic Cooling Fusion 550 has already found itself a nice home inside one of my systems here. I was left in awe at how quiet it performed considering the 80mm fan used for cooling - a method that is usually the opposite of quiet! It also gave me solid and steady performance as I would come to expect from any good quality power supply.

Arctic Cooling is well known for its graphics card coolers. But now they are entering the PSU market. The Fusion 550R is equipped with an intelligent fan that is mounted outside and provide a better cooling for the components in Fusion 550R. The performance of the Fusion 550R is very good, and supports SLI.

The Arctic Cooling Fusion 550R is a good and very efficient PSU, making it an ideal choice for people who would like to receive the best possible overall performance for their money. It is reasonably priced, efficient and very quiet. It certainly should be in your shortlist when shopping for a 450-600W unit.

The Fusion 550RF is by far the most convenient 550-watts-powersupply in the 80-plus-range. In Standby-mode it's the most effective Powersupply of our testet PSUs, and also at 20 and 50 % load it's among the best ones. To top this it achieved two times an excellent for the noise and a good at 100 % load.

Arctic Coooling's Fusion 550R has even though, or just becouse of it's contrary design (the fan is mounted from outside at the top of the PSU) shown excellent performance. Arctic Cooling succeded in creating a very silent PSU that delivers stable output voltages and at the same time derives a good efficiency.[...] The installed 80mm-fan was during the whole test-series very silent, as far we were able to judge it with out ears.

Arctic Cooling's Fusion 550R did surprise us very positively. To highlight is defenitely the low operation-noise. The custom-made F8 Pro fan is perfectly buffer-mounted and is spinning with relatively low speed, below 800 RPM. During the whole test the noise never exceeded 24,8 dB(A). The electrics, which are made by Seasonic work perfectly together with the whole unit. [...] With the current price of about 59,90 ? the PSU is at a very good price-performance-ratio. On balance there are many positive points and only few negative one's, so that we can award the Fusion 550R with out Sales-Recommendation with good conscience.

PFC is awesome (99%), efficiency over 80%. We really like the cooling system which based o­n Arctic F8 Pro Fan, it pulls air into the PSU at really low noise and no vibrations.
