| Superior Cooling Performance Featuring three 92mm PWM fans with a maximum cooling capacity up to 300 Watts, the Accelero Xtreme 7970 manages to transfer heat efficiently away from the GPU. Besides the 84-fin heatsink with 5 copper heatpipes, the pre-applied MX-4 thermal compound accelerates the heat dissipation process to ensure the VGA board is running under optimal temperature. | Enhanced RAM and VR Cooling The Accelero Xtreme 7970 comes with the non-conductive G-1 thermal glue which is used to affix RAM and VR heatsinks on the VGA board. It is especially formulated to offer excellent thermal conductivity with long-lasting adhesiveness of over 10 years. Moreover, removing the G-1 is as easy as removing a thermal tape. | Virtually Silent With three PWM-controlled 92 mm fans, the Accelero Xtreme 7970 cools efficiently and silently. Thanks to the PWM control, the fan spins according to the temperature of the GPU. This means that the fans just spin up if necessary and will rest at minimum speed otherwise. PWM settings can be modified to fix the priorities between performance and noise. If 10 degrees off gaming load temperatures wasn't enough to convince you in favour of the Accelero Xtreme 7970, then the acoustics paint an even better picture
With a gaming load noise of just 44 dBA, the Arctic VGA cooler is quieter than the stock cooler (63 dBA) at load!
The Arctic Accelero Xtreme 7970 has impressive cooling pedigree when compared to the reference HD 7970 cooler. It manages to achieve a 10 degree improvement in temperatures whilst remaining whisper quiet - noticeably quieter than the reference HD 7970 cooler.

48 degrees under load is a shocking outcome. The Accelero Xtreme 7970 is a must buy for everyone interested in spectacular performances for their new HD 7970.
DevID : Accelero Xtreme 7970
Proved to be in 7 degrees Celsius temperature more efficient (on 880 r/min) than its counterpart Twin Frozr IV(on 1730 r/min) when in silent mode!
Xbit Labs : Accelero Xtreme 7970
This is what real extreme air-cooling for the fastest and most expensive graphics cards should look like! Arctic once again nailed it!
Reviewer Jooya : Accelero Xtreme 7970
Very satisfactory performance, in IDLE it's 8 degrees cooler and when fully load it makes 10 degrees differences. It is suprisingly quieter than the default cooler. With its satisfactory cooling performance, this AX7970 is definitely a product to choose during hot summer to cool off your Radeon HD7900 series graphics card.
CPU Magazine : Accelero Xtreme 7970
The Accelero Xtreme III blew the numbers out of the water, idling at 30 oC and peaking at 51 oC. Noise output remained effectively low.
PC3 : Accelero Xtreme 7970
This Accelero Xtreme 7970 supports the latest Radeon HD 7970, and also compatible with wide range of mid-range models. With three 92mm fan and five 6mm heatpipes, can successfully transfer core temperature to the 84 fins. It also operates really silent as the changable fan speed. This cooler can gives around 5-25 degrees differences, and what suprisingly is the noise level between normal operation and 70% is similar, therefore we can use it with high fan speed yet keeping the noise level, however it greatly reduces the temperature from 82 to 48 degree celcius.
Radeon 3D : Accelero Xtreme 7970
GPU temperatures up to 31oC cooler at lower noise level than the stock cooler in IDLE!
Techzone.ro : Accelero Xtreme 7970
ARCTIC has built a great cooler for Radeon 7970, for this type of performance you usually need to pay up to 5 times more. You pay less, and you barely notice it's presence with the low noise. Which is great during gameplay.
Overclockers.ru : Accelero Xtreme 7970
A good product designed for a narrow group of enthusiasts, with wide compatibility. Excellent cooling performance and two to three times lower noise level than reference cooling system. It's also really considerate to have russian installation manual.
Hinnavaatlus : Accelero Xtreme 7970
Transparent packaging gives us a nice overview of the cooler. The performance of the 7970 is slightly better than AXPII. Cools the video card, and at the same time remains silent. Suitable for many cards.
Mod-your-case.de : Accelero Xtreme 7970
The ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme 7970 is completely convincing on cooling performance and noise level. Its cooling performance is remarkable with very low background noise.
Zhelezo : Accelero Xtreme 7970
A monster of a cooler with three fans, which knows how to cool quietly but also effectively. Installation is easy and has no problem at all. While the reference cooling system keeps the temprature at around 65 degrees underload with loud noise, AX7970 gave a value of 55 degress but also work absolutely silent.
PCFoster : Accelero Xtreme 7970
Accelero Xtreme 7970 is incredibly powerful and, despite using three fans it is very quiet. 7970 lowered the temparature by 16 degrees from stock cooler, very impressive.
Technic3d : Accelero Xtreme 7970
The Arctic Accelero Xtreme 7970 VGA cooler is perfectly convincing in terms of cooling capacity and noise level. It cools the graphics card better and quieter than the built-in reference cooler, so there there's nothing to complain about.
KitGuru : Accelero Xtreme 7970
If you have just purchased a brand new HD7970 or HD7950 then this cooler will be particularly interesting. The ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme 7970 is an exceptional cooling solution, often running with a 20c lower overhead than the reference solution. It is worth bearing in mind that even if you own an older AMD graphics card such as the 6970, 6950, 6870, 6850, 6790, 5870, 5850 and 5830, then this cooler will work fine.
HEXUS : Accelero Xtreme 7970
Xtreme 7970 beats out the reference heatsink by 18°C, impressive stuff. Xtreme 7970 represents a solid investment if you wish to coolly, quietly overclock the best single-GPU card on the planet
