The UD2 is a Class 1 dongle (100m range). It uses Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR (3Mbps transfer rate), and offer secure and simple pairing. Bluetooth Class 1 does not only offer a more reliable connection than Class 2, but also a more stable data transfer rate.

The range is a theoretical value which could only be achieved under ideal conditions. Under regular conditions the range is significantly lower.
