Superior Cooling Performance
5 copper heatpipes and the MX-4 thermal compound (pre-applied) transfer heat from the GPU efficiently to the 84-fin heatsink and the three 92mm PWM fans create tremendous airflow to cool down the GPU temperature instantly, even when higher performance is required during overclocking.

Reviewed by PC Games Hardware, the Accelero Xtreme 7970 reduced the GPU temperature on an AMD Radeon HD 7970 OC by 18 degrees.

The Accelero Xtreme 7970 cools your GPU quietly with three ultra-quiet PWM fans.

The test done by PC Games Hardware has shown that the Accelero Xtreme 7970 is 20 times quieter comparing with the stock cooler at full load.

Thanks to the PWM control, the fan speed adjusts according to the temperature of the GPU and thus the noise level remains at an absolute minimum. Click here to see how the PWM control settings can be changed according to your performance and noise preference.

"Absolute leader in acoustic performance"
"Accelero Xtreme 7970 generates no more than 45 dBA even with all three of its fans rotating at their maximum speed. It is an absolute leader acoustic performance among all VGA coolers"

"As far as the faster fan modes of the new Accelero Xtreme 7970 are concerned, even a very efficiency cooling system from MSI can't compete against the unbeatable ARCTIC product. The latter is still 2-7 C better than MSI Twin Frozr IV at its best."

"The Accelero Xtreme 7970 operates both quietly and coolly. Its fan headers plug right into the graphics card for convenience and control, and the combination effectively brings down temperatures even in the face of aggressive overclocking."

Very satisfactory performance, in IDLE it's 8 degrees cooler and when fully load it makes 10 degrees differences. It is suprisingly quieter than the default cooler. With its satisfactory cooling performance, this AX7970 is definitely a product to choose during hot summer to cool off your Radeon HD7900 series graphics card.

"Incredibly powerful and very quiet"
Accelero Xtreme 7970 greatly reduces the temperature by 41C (from 89C to 48C) in idle. During load, it remains the GPU temperature at around 60C. It also reduces the noise level by 11.9 dBA comparing to stock coolers. This gives space for overclocking and thus Accelero Xtreme 7970 is suitable for enthusiasts.

A monster of a cooler with three fans, which knows how to cool quietly but also effectively. Installation is easy and has no problem at all. While the reference cooling system keeps the temprature at around 65 degrees underload with loud noise, AX7970 gave a value of 55 degress but also work absolutely silent.

The Accelero Xtreme 7970 VGA cooler is perfectly convincing in terms of cooling capacity and noise level. It cools the graphics card better and quieter than the built-in reference cooler, so there there's nothing to complain about.

Technical Support / FAQ

How to unplug the PCI-E power connector?read

How to use the 4-pin adapter?read

Under what conditions do you need a 4-pin adapter?

Your graphics card

1. is using a non-standard cooler socket (e.g. 5-pin, flipped polarity) or
2. is using a passive cooler as the stock cooler

How to connect the 4-pin adapter?

The differences between 7V and 12V socket*

7V: Moderate fan speed. It gives the best balance between cooling performance and noise level. It is recommended for normal usage.
12V: Full fan speed depending on the fan design. It gives the best cooling performance and it is recommended for high duty usage.

*The fan speed is fixed regardless of the GPU's condition.

Steps

1. Ensure your PSU has spare power source and plug in the 4-pin adapter.

2. Connect your ARCTIC graphics card cooler's power plug to the preferred socket.

Please note: Make sure the connector is plugged into the corresponding socket (i.e. A 3-pin plug should be connected to a 3-pin socket and a 4-pin plug should be connected to a 4-pin socket). If the plug is connected to the wrong socket, the motor will burn immediately due to incorrect polarity.

3. Insert the graphics card with ARCTIC graphics card cooler into PC case.

4. Tie up the cables to avoid any interference with the fan set or other hardware.
