Low Noise
Complimented by Hardware Secrets for being the quietest cooler ever tested, the Freezer Xtreme features a central-mounted 120 mm fan with low noise impeller and patented fan holder to achieve quiet operation.

Thanks to the PWM control, the fan speed adjusts according to the CPU temperature and thus the noise level remains at an absolute minimum which qualifies it as a silent cooler. Click here to see how the PWM control settings can be changed according to your performance and noise preference.

"Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2 showed quite good cooling performance."

"Freezer Xtreme 2 is getting the best value for money award"
"Great airflow even in low RPM!"
"Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2, one of the cheapest cooler on test and also one of the quietest."
"The quietest cooler we tested so far."

"Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2 is a good cooler, with good performance and a terrific low noise level."
"ARCTIC has impressed us again"
"The quietness of this cooler enchanted me, because i couldn't even hear the fan, everything else seemed louder."
Great performance considering the size, and handles high CPU loads without any effort. Has gorgeous design and the preapplied thermal paste is a great addition.
Quality cooler doesn't always mean high price. For example ARCTIC Freezer XTREME Rev. 2. For 1100 RUB manufacture gives us full format tower cooler with interesting specs. This cooler can't compete with the best of the best but they are from a different league and it can surely cool 6-core Core i7. It can dissipate up to 160W.
Freezer Xtreme might be old, but it still keeps up with the latest technology with its wide compatability list.
"The quietness of this cooler enchanted me!"
"With the Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2, the noise is virtually eliminated"
"The low noise is one of the strengths of the ARCTIC Freezer XTREME Rev. 2, and has great airflow even in low RPM."

The PC is reporting a low fan speed during booting.

Your PC may send you a CPU Fan Speed warning when starting the PC if the fan speed is lower than the default minimum value. If you do not wish to receive this warning in the future, you may enter the BIOS to reset the minimum value or disable the function completely.

As shown in the example below, you can adjust the settings under Power -> CPU Fan Speed warning. By setting the value to 800 RPM, you should avoid any warnings of this kind in the future.

The heatsink does not cover the whole CPU surface

It is not necessary for the cooler's copper base to cover the CPU entirely as the heat is emitted mainly from the center of the CPU.
