Improved Cooling Performance
by New Production Process

The high thermal conductivity of aluminum is fully retained by a new type of extrusion. This new production process creates a powerful yet very compact radial heat sink. The particularly thin cooling fins of the new Alpine are fanned out in a Y-shape. This increases the surface area of the heat sink and therefore the cooling capacity.

Wide RPM Range

The Alpine 12 features a new motor technology with a very wide, PWM-controlled RPM range. This keeps the noise level at a minimum while guaranteeing maximum cooling performance when needed.

Lower Power Consumption & Minimum Vibration

The new Alpine 12 is powered by an updated motor and runs much more efficiently than its predecessors. Due to sinus-magnetizing the new motor creates just 5 % of the vibrations from commutation of a regular DC-motor. These factors contribute towards saving energy, lowering the coil temperature and reducing vibrations to a minimum without compromising performance.

If you're looking for a budget cooler and don't own a very power hungry CPU or don't plan on overclocking, the ARCTIC Alpine 12 is a tempting buy, as it presents a cooler and quieter alternative for the stock cooler, especially for the low price point. We can easily recommend it.
The ARCTIC cooler is silent and without OC it can cope with any processor calmly. It is also reasonably well made. For sure it is a better option than a boxed cooler.

The ARCTIC Alpine 12 is for everyone, who assembles a compact PC with a MIni ITX motherboard in a compact case. The recommended price is rather affordable and the very wide RPM range is very useful.

Which thermal paste can I use?read

We recommend using MX-2 or MX-4 thermal paste. ATTENTION! Please do not use liquid metal thermal paste. The component gallium causes aluminum to corrode and become brittle.

My PWM fan stops regularly - is it defective?read

No, the fan is not defective. Thanks to the new engine technology, Rev. 1 of our fans can operate in a 0 db mode. If the PWM signal falls below 5 %, the fan stops and thus operates completely silently.

If the operating load of the computer rises and more cooling is necessary, the fan is automatically informed via PWM and starts again.
