During the development of the new P12 PWM PST CO, special emphasis was placed on a focused airstream and thus a high static pressure. The fan guarantees extremely efficient cooling, even with increased air resistance. Therefore, the P12 PWM PST CO is particularly suitable for use on heatsinks and radiators.

More Efficient Technology

The motor is powered by a Neodym-Iron-Boron-Magnet ring of the newest generation, which allows the new P12 PWM PST CO to run much more efficiently than its predecessors. This saves energy and lowers the coil temperature without comprimising the performance.

The premium quality Japanese dual ball bearing allows continuous operation 24/7 without the slightest compromise in performance. Dust and high temperature are affecting this bearing a lot less than generic sleeve or one ball bearings and thus make it the perfect choice when reliability is essential.

Maximum Quietness, Minimum Vibration

Even at low speeds the operating sound of the new ARCTIC motor is barely noticeable.
Due to a sinus-magnetizing the new motor only creates about 5 % of the vibration from commutation of a regular DC-motor without filter. Consequently, there is no need for rubber spacers due to the steady and smooth torque of the new motor.

With a wide range of regulation and the PWM Sharing Technology (PST), the P12 PWM PST CO fan speed can be controlled synchronously with all your other fans together. This keeps noise at a minimum while guaranteeing maximum cooling performance when needed.

ARCTIC Fan Guide

Static pressure and air flow in fans - what does that mean?

In addition to the size and the speed of a fan, air flow and static pressure are two important metrics for evaluating the performance of a fan.

For air flow, the transported air volume is measured in cubic meters per hour (m³ / h) or alternatively in cubic feet per minute (CFM). The pressure, however, is measured in mm H²O, with the so-called (milli-) meters of water gauge and corresponds to the pressure in the given water depth.

Information about the air flow therefore gives you information about the maximum amount of air that can be moved by the fan, whereas figures about the static pressure provide information about the pressure with which the air is transported.


Why do you need a high airflow in fans?

Air is a very poor conductor of heat. Without any air circulation, powerful PC components would quickly thermal throttle due to heat accumulation.

The rotational movement of the fan blades creates a mechanical air flow. The airflow transports warm air away and draws in new, cooler air to the heatsink, thus preventing thermal throttling. This, of course, has a big influence on the cooling performance.


What is static pressure important for?

Static pressure is important for cooling performance in situations where completely free air circulation impossible. This may be, for example, a close-meshed housing inlet, or radiators and heatsinks, with their closely spaced cooling fins. In order to guarantee high air circulation through these resistors, the highest possible static pressure is required.

Without a correspondingly high static pressure, the desired air circulation is not achieved, whereby cooling power is lost.


Are the P-fans compatible with my existing Freezer 33?

Yes, the 120 mm versions of the new P-fans can be easily mounted to existing Freezer 32 and Freezer 33 models. This should lead to improved cooling performance.

At the same time, you can benefit from the new engine technology with all its advantages and customization options with the color variations of the PWM-equipped P-fan.


Why are no anti-vibration pads included?

Thanks to the new motor technology of the PWM-equipped P-fans, only 5 % of the commutation vibration of a conventional DC motor is generated. Modern sinus-magnetizing guarantees an even power distribution, which eliminates the need for additional rubber buffering.


My PWM fan stops regularly - is it defective?

No, the fan is not defective. Thanks to the new engine technology, our new PWM fans can operate in a 0 db mode. If the PWM signal falls below 5 %, the fan stops and thus operates completely silently.

If the operating load of the computer rises and more cooling is necessary, the fan is automatically informed via PWM and starts again.


How do I configure my PWM settings?

You can only configure the PWM settings via your BIOS. Please consult your motherboards user manual for additional information.

How many fans can I connect in series via PWM PST?
